Karuta is the product of developers interested in theory-based software, i.e., software that aims to faithfully implement what the theory builds. Relational theory is our guiding star.
Logical and Denotational
Pay attention to what actually matters to solve your problem. Let the runtime figure out the how; operational details are completely unrelated and is a concern of the language implementers.
Uniformity
Application-layer and persistance-layer predicates are semantically the same. Therefore, we have a uniform syntax to deal with both. No string manipulation and no ORMs; built-in from the start.
Free as in Freedom
